I noticed a pattern with 12 paying clients

I was on a Zoom with 12 people who hired me, and I noticed a pattern I had never seen this clearly before.

On Monday, we did the kickoff call for the Content on Easy Mode Community.

To help everyone get to know each other, we went around the room and did introductions.

I didn’t even ask this question, but people started volunteering how they found me and why they joined.

Here’s what shocked me:

  • 4 people first discovered me because I presented inside communities they were already part of
    (and it was
    four different communities 😮)
  • Another 4 people attended a long-form workshop I hosted

That means 75%+ of the room came from longer, more interactive experiences with me.

Now it's clicking.

Because I also recently watched a video where Alex Hormozi shared his 2026 social media strategy, and the #1 thing he’s focused on is live streams.

Because people want to feel comfortable and connected to you before they buy.

He said that usually takes about 2 hours of time with you.

Now think about this for a second…

My videos are usually 45 seconds to 1 minute long. That means someone would have to watch 100 of my videos to spend the same amount of time with me as one live event.

So let me break this down simply so you can apply it to your business.

Your goal is time.

The more time people spend with you:

  • the faster they trust you
  • the more confident they feel
  • the more willing they are to give you money

Here are a few options for how to apply this:

If you’re brand new: Start with free consultations.
It’s the most intimate format and lets you show someone
exactly how you think and how you help.

Next level:
Run your own workshops. Even if only 4 or 5 people show up. Even if you convert
zero. The trust and connection still get built, and they often come back later.

Lastly:
Guest everywhere your ideal clients already are. Run a workshop inside another community. Go on podcasts. Do live streams. Collaborate with peers in your industry. These experiences introduce you to brand new audiences and send people down a rabbit hole of consuming more of your content.

I just gave you a lot. Don’t do all of it.

Apply one thing.

Baby steps.

Cheers,
Coach D ✌️

I was hanging out with homey, Travis, yesterday. He's a seasoned entrepreneur who's owned several businesses. He asked me how things were going. Business is growing. Boys are getting older. Life is good. Yes. Things are moving in the right directon but I'm still digging out of a hole. See, before I started my business, I put myself in a pretty deep financial hole. And while I've made a lot of progress over the last 3 years, I'm still climbing. My wife asks about the house. "When are we...

I go to the gym every morning. Part of my workout is a 30-40 minute cardio session. I used to do the treadmill, but I hurt my ankle, so I've been on the elliptical. (I'm getting old.) 😢 For the last 3 years, while I do cardio, I've been watching TV shows. I decided to change that up this year. Started last week. Instead of TV shows, I've been watching YouTube videos. All stuff related to my business. How to create better content, how to generate more leads, trends in the social media world I...

99% of business owners I speak to are terrified to niche down. They think that if they get too specific, they'll miss out on sales. Miss out on opportunities. That nobody will see or interact with their content. I get it. It feels risky. But with social media getting more saturated and growth getting harder (especially on LinkedIn), being hyper-niche is actually an unfair advantage, not a concern. Let me explain. If you've ever been to the Carolinas, you've probably seen Cheerwine. It's a...
