Over the last 2 years, I've helped 100's of people start getting leads using video. But there is a mistake I continue to see over and over again. It could be the one thing holding you back from getting leads with your video content. Most of us have become great writers and content creators by building our online business. So, when I start helping someone with their video content, we usually don't get stuck on exactly what to say or how to say it. If you're creating valuable and helpful content and providing relevant information to your target audience but fail to guide them on how you can help them You won't be getting leads. You'll be getting a bucket full of "Thank you's," "This was so helpful," and "Great insight!" So instead, we end up focusing more on the little things. Because it is these little things that often have the biggest effect. One of the smallest factors having the biggest effect on how many leads you'll capture? → Your Call-to-Action (CTAs) Start taking notes, because you can apply this to your next video. In the past (we're talking 2020 here), it was easier to acquire clients. Everyone and their dog was looking for an opportunity online. It was a lot easier to ask people to "Shoot you a DM," or "Book a free call to learn more." These days, people need a little bit more to take action. The biggest lever to pull to get your audience to take action is by using social proof at the end of your video. Here's an example (Steal this framework on your next educational video): You're an accountant who just posted a video on your "3 best tips on how to save money on taxes in 2025." Instead of: "DM me to learn more." You're going to say something like: "We applied these 3 steps to a sales manager last year, and it enabled them to get an extra $2,400 in deductions that they might've missed out on. So if you want to maximize your deductions in 2025 shoot me a follow, or send me a DM and I'll just do it for you." When people see that other people are getting the success they're not. It creates a missing opportunity in their mind, and you've just positioned yourself to fill that gap. P.S. Stress-free content systems for founders and companies
I was on a Zoom with 12 people who hired me, and I noticed a pattern I had never seen this clearly before. On Monday, we did the kickoff call for the Content on Easy Mode Community. To help everyone get to know each other, we went around the room and did introductions. I didn’t even ask this question, but people started volunteering how they found me and why they joined. Here’s what shocked me: 4 people first discovered me because I presented inside communities they were already part of(and...
I go to the gym every morning. Part of my workout is a 30-40 minute cardio session. I used to do the treadmill, but I hurt my ankle, so I've been on the elliptical. (I'm getting old.) 😢 For the last 3 years, while I do cardio, I've been watching TV shows. I decided to change that up this year. Started last week. Instead of TV shows, I've been watching YouTube videos. All stuff related to my business. How to create better content, how to generate more leads, trends in the social media world I...
99% of business owners I speak to are terrified to niche down. They think that if they get too specific, they'll miss out on sales. Miss out on opportunities. That nobody will see or interact with their content. I get it. It feels risky. But with social media getting more saturated and growth getting harder (especially on LinkedIn), being hyper-niche is actually an unfair advantage, not a concern. Let me explain. If you've ever been to the Carolinas, you've probably seen Cheerwine. It's a...
