Pumpkin pie and big results

Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that can feel like a marathon.

Big dinners, big plans, big expectations.

But this year, I’m keeping it simple.

Since we moved, it’s just the four of us - me, my wife, and the kids.

Low-key. No hustle. Just us making some pumpkin pie together.

I bring this up because the holidays bring out two versions of us: the hustler and the human.

The hustler is busy wrapping up projects, making plans, and - if you’re on LinkedIn - feeling like you need to post every day to stay relevant.

But the human?

The human just wants to slow down.

To be present with family, with friends, with clients. To focus on connection.

There’s something about scaling back that makes you realize what’s really important.

Moving away from the big holiday bustle has been a gift.

It’s reminded me that the best moments aren’t about doing more. They’re about showing up for the people who matter, fully present, without distractions.

That’s true for your business too.

It’s easy to think you need to be everywhere on LinkedIn to grow.

More posts. More videos. More hustle.

But you don’t need to be an influencer.

You don’t even need to post every day.

And you definitely don’t need to burn yourself out to build a business that works for you.

The less you focus on trying to impress the masses, the more likely you are to build real, lasting relationships.

The holidays are the perfect time to rethink your strategy. Instead of hustling for attention, try this:

  1. Post with intention, not perfection. Your audience doesn’t need daily videos; they need a few videos that resonate.
  2. Engage meaningfully. Skip the generic comments and DMs. Focus on conversations that matter.
  3. Give more than you get. Share insights, stories, and encouragement.

This isn’t just advice; it’s the strategy I’ve built my business on.

I’m not here to build a massive following.

I’m here to build a business.

I have 28 clients who pay me $4k per quarter.

That’s $448k annually, with plenty of time left for my family.

And I do it with just a few hours of work per client each month.

Next year, I’ll grow to 40 clients, and I’ll still have time to bake pumpkin pie with my kids.

And it all started by getting clear about who I was helping and showing up in front of them with confidence.

When I look at my business, it’s not about chasing followers or likes; it’s about serving the right people.

As we head into the holidays, think about what matters most to you.

For me, it’s less hustle and more presence.

On LinkedIn, it’s less about being everywhere and more about being intentional.

Serving the people who need my help in the simplest, most effective way possible.

You don’t need to be an influencer to succeed on LinkedIn.

You don’t need to overthink it.

You just need to show up and speak to the people who need you.

If you’ve been hesitating to try video, now’s the time.

If you want to figure it out on your own, check out my videos on YouTubeand make sure you're following me on LinkedIn.

But, if you’re ready for support, I’d love to help you create videos that connect, build trust, and grow your business.

Let’s talk about how I can help you connect with your audience in a way that feels true to you here.

I have a terrible confession. I am sitting on an absolute goldmine. And I’ve been keeping this from you for over a year now. Lying to you, lying to my clients, lying to everyone. So, here it goes… Every week, I interview high-level experts for their video content. CEOs, founders, marketing experts, sales leaders, you name it. PHEW. Okay, got that off my chest. Now that monkey’s off my back, let me tell you more… As you probably know, I ask them questions, help them share their expertise, and...

Last week, I dropped a podcast with Robb Gilbear, a multi-six-figure business coach who's mentored over 400 entrepreneurs. The goal of my podcast isn't the podcast itself, but the clips that result from it. But let me tell you where I went wrong with Robb. I had just come across a great video framework, and I was set on using it. But the problem is that Robb is a super creative guy. And we ended up boxing in his creativity by trying to put him into this rigid framework. We kinda struggled...

Let’s get one thing straight: hooks are important. There’s no shortage of content these days. If your posts don’t grab attention immediately, people scroll right by. But here’s what I’ve been noticing… The hooks we’ve been taught to use? They’re not working anymore! You know the ones: “Here’s the secret to 10x your revenue on LinkedIn.” “Double your leads with one phrase?” “7 hacks to stop the scroll.” These are manufactured. Formulaic. Obvious. And honestly… people are kinda tired of them. I...
