I'm 42 years old, and I have $0 saved for retirement. 😬 Most financial advisors would probably judge me and run in the opposite direction. What they don't know is that:
When I told this Derek Coburn, he didn't judge me at all. He APPLAUDED me. Because Derek has a very different perspective on retirement. He even wrote a book about it. Derek believes the whole retirement thing is completely backwards. Save every penny now. Miss your kids' games. Skip vacations. Work yourself into the ground. All so you can "retire" at 65 and do what exactly? Sit around for 30 years? Derek's been a financial advisor since 1998. And he kept seeing the same thing over and over. His clients would finally hit their "number." Finally retire. Then look around and realize their marriage was basically dead. Their body was broken. And they had NO idea what to do with themselves. Meanwhile... They'd spent 93% of the time they'll EVER have with their kids. (This one hit hard. You can see it on my face in the video. 😂) So Derek came up with a different approach. What if you worked 10 more years... But saved 96% LESS money every month? I'm talking $110 instead of $2,400. That extra $2,290 a month? That's Disney World RIGHT NOW. That's WEEKLY date nights with my wife. That's NEVER missing one of my kids' events. Not someday. Today. We went DEEP in this episode:

Yesterday, I saw a post calling Alex Hormozi a liar. (of course, the post got a ton of attention) But I don't think he's a liar at all. I don't think most business entrepreneur gurus you see on social media, with millions of views and followers, are lying to you. They're just playing a completely different game. The audience that they've built gives them leverage that you do not have as somebody with 1,000, 5,000 or even 10,000 followers. And does that mean that I'm not going to take some of...
I had this major breakthrough during a client call yesterday. And it's a little personal, but I think it's too important not to share. I was talking to Mike, who's an executive coach specializing in personal development. He's the one who really brought it out of me. Mike and me during our in-person meetup last month I told him, "I HATE this concept of finding yourself." He leaned in. "Good. Tell me more. I remember when I was younger, my mom wanted to get me help because I was screwing up....
Your boy is back after a 10-day social media detox. I needed the break. I was getting bored with the content flooding my feed. (including my own) 😢 So I unplugged completely. Spoke at the Empowered Podcasting Conference. Hit Disney World with my family. (even met the Supreme Leader, Kylo Ren). Empowered Podcasting 2 My son being mentored by the Supreme Leader Then I took a few days to sit, reflect, and figure out what was bugging me. Here's what I discovered: I've been stuck between two...
