Today, I'm sharing my proven 5-step framework for a video strategy that has netted millions in revenue for me and my clients without millions of followers or paid ads. Let's get into it! You probably already realize video is a great way to grow your business, and you're feeling the pressure to jump into it this year. So you started filming. But you never really had a clear strategy. You feel like you're winging it, hoping something sticks. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t. Now you’ve wasted a bunch of time creating random videos that don’t align with your audience’s needs or goals. Let me ask you... How close are you to quitting and writing off video as a failed experiment altogether? Before you answer, I want to tell you a story: In the summer of 2022, I quit my sales job. I knew I would need to attract customers for my coaching business ASAP, so I went all-in on creating organic video content. I started posting my videos on LinkedIn, and even with just 2,000 followers, I got tons of DMS. All founders and solopreneurs asking me how they could use video to attract clients. Since I did hundreds of interviews as a podcaster, I thought, "could I apply those skills to help people create videos?" The answer is yes. So, I dropped the coaching and started a done-for-you remote video agency. Since then, in just 2 years, I have helped over 100 founders and companies create thousands of videos and drive millions of revenue with organic video content on LinkedIn. When you create with intention, you build trust, showcase your expertise, and spark curiosity about your offers… You can generate a shit ton of business organically without paid ads or cold outreach. Let's get into what you came for - the steps! Step 1: Pick Your ThemeEvery great video strategy starts with a clear, consistent theme. Why? Because your audience needs to know what you stand for and what they can expect from you. I’m borrowing this term from a friend. Your theme is the North Star for all your content. Couple of examples:
Without a theme, your content will feel scattered. With one, your audience knows exactly why they should follow you - and they’ll stick around. Step 2: Understand the PurposeYou can’t treat every video the same. Each piece of content should serve one of three purposes:
When you align your videos with these three goals, people will know, like, and trust you and eventually feel comfortable enough to raise their hands and reach out to you. Step 3: Research! This is where most people skip ahead. Big mistake! Do your research. Look at what your audience is already engaging with.
I know my audience here on LinkedIn loves case study-style videos because every time I post one I get 200 likes and a ton of engagement. When you research, you stop guessing and start creating content that always hits the mark. (I’m going to go a level deeper on research in the next email and show you exactly how I do it for myself and my clients.) Step 4: Brainstorm TopicsSo far we’ve been doing all planning and research so now it’s time for action. Take your main niche and start breaking down all the relevant topics for you to talk about… For me, my main topic is video, so I can talk about… Camera confidence, Filming tips like lighting, hooks, research, editing… the list goes on Having a list of go-to topics that you can refer back to when you're stuck will ensure that you never run out of content ideas. No more staring at the screen, wondering what the hell to talk about. Step 5: Choose Your FormatsYour topics are locked in, now it’s time to decide how to present them. The key is to mix it up so your content stays fresh. But also repeat the ones that work! It would be pretty stupid of me to stop posting BTS videos when I know they generate leads every time. Putting It All Together Now this where is all comes together. One topic can easily become multiple pieces of content. And since you have multiple topics and multiple formats you basically have endless possibilities. This is how you multiply your content without multiplying your workload. And because your videos are: • Tied to a theme • Serve a clear purpose • Speak directly to your audience’s needs They’ll attract the right clients and turn them into leads. Creating a video strategy doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, Now it’s your turn: pick one topic, choose a format, and hit record. Keep it simple. Start today. ⏪ ICYMI: Last Week's Best Content

Stress-free content systems for founders and companies
I'm 42 years old, and I have $0 saved for retirement. 😬 Most financial advisors would probably judge me and run in the opposite direction. What they don't know is that: I emptied out my savings to pay off my wife's student loans so we can afford to buy our first home. I emptied it out again to keep the lights on for my family while I was building my business. When I told this Derek Coburn, he didn't judge me at all. He APPLAUDED me. Because Derek has a very different perspective on...
Yesterday, I saw a post calling Alex Hormozi a liar. (of course, the post got a ton of attention) But I don't think he's a liar at all. I don't think most business entrepreneur gurus you see on social media, with millions of views and followers, are lying to you. They're just playing a completely different game. The audience that they've built gives them leverage that you do not have as somebody with 1,000, 5,000 or even 10,000 followers. And does that mean that I'm not going to take some of...
I had this major breakthrough during a client call yesterday. And it's a little personal, but I think it's too important not to share. I was talking to Mike, who's an executive coach specializing in personal development. He's the one who really brought it out of me. Mike and me during our in-person meetup last month I told him, "I HATE this concept of finding yourself." He leaned in. "Good. Tell me more. I remember when I was younger, my mom wanted to get me help because I was screwing up....
